WOW WHAT A WEEK!SUNDAY - A fabulous fun "Scrappy Lunch" party at our place. We have these fun "scrappy" lunches every couple of months were friends come along for a fun day. There can be anywhere from 14 to 20+ people. Scrappy lunches started when I came out of hospital 3.5 years ago and a friend would pop over and it was literally bring whatever left overs you had in the fridge, hence the term "scrappy lunches". They soon grew into 1 or 2 more people and then full on parties at my previous house. Now everyone brings something and between them and Mum they are brilliantly catered for spreads. They are such fun parties often with a theme. We've had hat parties, Christmas in July, Soup and Dessert nights and the next will be a funny wig party. What's so great is that everyone really get's into the spirit of things. It's so precious to have such wonderful friends and people in my life. MONDAY - Medical appointments at the Royal Women's in ParkvilleI had 2 medical appointments at the Royal Women's Hospital (nothing to worry about) so I thought as it was such a beautiful day weather wise I'd catch the train and bus to the hospital. As well as save some money in cab fares. It usually costs about $15.00 each way. The appointments finished at about 2.30pm so I decided to go and see a movie as well in the city as that was my half way point to get back home. The bus stop is right outside the hospital. I travel for free on public transport and the bus takes me straight to the train station and I never have to wait longer than 1-2 minutes for a train to go to Flinders St Station. The buses are all Smart buses and so easy to use. I had a magnificent day as after the movie I took my time in getting home and it was fantastic to see the colours change in the sky from blue to that pink colour with a blue ting. I hadn't see a sunset in some time, and my spirits were flying high on the Monday. I did see some funny things during my travels that day. Spotted this sign at the bus stop and at a quick glance I thought it said "WTF".....lol. Not the case, but one never knows in this day and age. MOVIE REVIEW - SIN CITY, A DAME TO KILL FORTUESDAY - Catch up with fabulous friends for lunch in the city.I met some fabulous friends for lunch in the city and then headed off to do some shopping in the CBD. I had my camera with me and found this amazing wall of water as a feature in Collins St near Swanston St, so decided to take some shots (as per the link below). After that I was over the amount of people in the city as had forgotten it was school holidays and AFL Grand Final week. Plus there were so many tourists around. The city is busy all the time! It never stops! My feet were aching so I treated myself to a foot reflexology treatment for 45 minutes. It was divine although would you believe that both my legs started severely spaseming and jumping all over the place every 4 seconds alternating legs! Try explaining that to a lovely person who only speaks Mandarin. However I took a Valium and meditated to try to enjoy the treatment, which I did. Thanks to my chemotherapy 10 years ago I taught myself to meditate and can use those skills now. I have to say bugger of a disease, once I put my chair slightly lower in the tilt position after the treatment finished, those spasms disappeared! Little buggers :) Hopped on the train to come home and couldn't keep my eyes open.......thanks Valium. Not to worry, I had the best day and a smile in my heart :) WEDNESDAY - A day at home as I was wrecked after 3 longs day, "Thanks Devic's"!I have been thinking of selling my house for the past year or so and have been watching the market especially in that area. After chatting to my financial guy, I decided now was the time to sell for many reasons. How exciting! So as exhausted and fatigued as I was, I jumped online and started to do some additional THURSDAY - TRIP TO POINT COOK ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND BACKI thought it'd be great to go by public transport to Point Cook from the other side of town, and save myself $100 in taxi fares as well. There is are some great websites where you can map out the times of when trains and buses are due to arrive and stop which makes it fun to use public transport. Plus I travel for free! I took 2 trains and a bus to see my agent. It took me about 1 hour and 15 minutes, just 15 minutes longer than if I was to go by taxi. I thought it'd be fun to make a video of the journey and have done so with it now on YouTube. Enjoy. FRIDAY - OMG............WHAT A DAY!I had so much to order on my TO DO list and so many phone calls to make before an appointment between 10-11am, and didn't finish with my carer in the morning until 10am. SPC CHANGE - at 11 am. PODIATRIST - at 12 am. Drove down in 10 minutes, no time to do my hair, and it was cold! TIDY MY ROOM............IT LOOKED LIKE A BOMB HAD GONE OFF IN IT!
