THE EXPENDABLES 3 (2014)

This is not a movie I would select myself to see. I've watched about 10 minutes of an episode once as so many people were raving about it, and couldn't stand it. However a friend of mine asked if I'd like to see it with her and her son and I thought sure, as it's good to keep an open mind and it would be great to catch up and have a laugh with them.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised as I had a great laugh! It's a very basic story with some very crazy scenes in it, and so not politically correct, that I think it's why it appealed to me. I didn't have to follow a complex story or subtitles, nor drool over a handsome leading guy or have to concentrate on period complex dialogue. It was just slapstick Irish humour.

Would I recommend it? If you are comfortable with the F Bomb word then you'll be able to handle it. Otherwise stay away. I don't mind using the F Bomb when required in my language and am very open minded with a pretty warped sense of humour and liked it.

I'd give it ** 1/2 stars.

I love these movies......action, bash 'em up, crazy stunts and a heap of ageing action hero actors, real men from all the 80's movies. There's Syllvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnie, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and of course in this one Wesley Snipes pops up and so many more familiar faces. 

It was great and I loved it! Especially looking at Jason and of course all the bits of surgery these chaps have had on their faces, but still watching them being men and reminding me of why I loved all their movies in their hey days. They don't make many movies like these any more. And the one liners are priceless!
