CLICK ON THE TITLE ABOVE TO GO TO THE SITE AS SOMETIMES NOT ALL THE PHOTOS APPEAR IN THE EMAIL FEED. I set up a social group on Meetup for wheelchair users, people with disabilities, friends and carers, a few years ago. Yesterday we'd arranged to go to the Melbourne Zoo. It was the biggest group that has ever gotten together with 20 or so of us. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very hot day in Melbourne, and the busiest day I have ever seen at the zoo. Not a great combination for many wheelchairs and people needing assistance. There were a few other hiccups one being that very few animals were out, but we managed and I think most people enjoyed themselves. For those of you know me, I'll always make the best of any situation, and turn it around to be a positive one and laugh rather than cry. It was a great day despite the hurdles and challenges. I caught up with friends I hadn't seen for a while, and met new people I can't wait to see again. There were so many fun and cheeky personalities there, I can't wait for the next outing which is ice skating in March. I am still chuckling to myself, a great day :) I don't have photos of everyone as the group split up and some people I saw more than most. Enjoy the fun photos :)
