The downside of having drugs such as chemotherapy and the current drug I have, Rituximab, for the disease is that they weaken my immune system making it easier to catch bugs. I've been pretty lucky since 2010 however this Winter seems to be the season for it. I have just finished getting rid of a bronchitis bug a few weeks ago, and now have a cold and cough!! Geeezz...buggers!
I can handle the symptoms and am not a winger at all, but whenever there is a bug in my system, it affects my legs. My left side of my body is the weak side, and that leg I can't move at all. What happens when I'm sick is that both legs become incredibly stiff, especially the left one. To the point I can't even bend it! This means I can't put it on my footplate of my wheelchair. It also shoots out every time I cough. Luckily I have a fabulous carer in the form of my Mum who is strong and patient, and will pop in and bend it for me :) I Guess the messages get scrambled in the spinal cord in the area that sends messages to my leg muscles?? Anyhow, mandarins are here in force, and luckily I'm not to busy at the moment so I can just rest and sleep when my body tells me to. So, I thought to cheer myself up, as well as anyone else who may be feeling a bit flat or unwell, here are some lovely early Spring photos. I've been playing with the Portrait setting on the iPhone 7. Enjoy :)
